There was something that Dawson was not. He wasn’t the type to get jealous over anything. Though the moment that he started to fill the pit of jealousy within him over the fact that Scout paid attention to the security guards, even for something as harmless as getting out of facility. He didn’t even particularly like anyone in a romantic way, at least not before he met Scout. If it had been anyone else who had told him that he was jealous over something as stupid as that, he’d have denied it. But with Scout he actually knew that he liked her. At least now. It hadn’t been very obvious to him until he and her had chair raced, not even then, not until that surge of jealousy pulsed through his veins did it happen. Returning to his room and he lay on his bed, Tony the Dino in his cage eating a kiwi. That Dawson really thought about his feelings for Scout, she had been a great friend. Dawson didn’t make them very easy, he was actually fairly shy and didn’t like to talk to random strangers that often. Not that Scout was a stranger, but she had been, he actually had warmed up to her faster than he would have say another person. If it was he was changing or the fact that there was something special about her, he couldn’t be too sure.
Dawson had taken the time to think over what he was going to do about his feelings. He didn’t like to keep secrets when it came to his feelings. Which was not always the greatest attribute to have. Sometimes secrets were better off as just that. In love it certainly was the better case. Who knew if the other person liked you back, or if they though of you in that same way. Secrets in love were always better. Though Dawson had to tell her, if he didn’t tell her in a way that he could shine, then he would blurt it out randomly and make a fool of himself. Not that he didn’t normally, Dawson was goofy and in tune he would blurt such a secret out to her, probably yelling in a very Ron Weasley way. Much to his embarrassment. So he just had to think of a way to make it up to her. To make a way to tell her how much Dawson liked her and enjoyed her company. She even liked his turtle, which was hard not to do, but it wasn’t completely impossible. Though that made him like her all the more.
Now he had to tell her. He had to tell her how much he liked her. Dawson had spent most of the day trying to think of something to do. It had to be special, because its what Scout deserved. That and Dawson liked to make a spectacle. Soon, it hit him it was perfect. He quickly scribbled down a note for her ”Meet me at the cafeteria in two hours”. Dawson quickly dashed down the hall avoiding the looks from the doctors and nurses as he passed, stopping for only a few seconds outside Scouts door. Placing the note on her door and knocking as hard as his knuckles would allow. As soon as his hand made contact he dashed away from the spot, she’d know it was Dawson, he didn’t want to linger in front of her door and answer any questions that she may have about his request.
Instead of returning back to his room and turtle he went to the cafeteria. Dawson spent several minutes pleading his case with some of the cooks to convince them that they needed to help him. Which they all seemed so interested in his plans. Helping him set up a single table with a pair of chairs. They even added a deep red table cloth and a candle in the center of the table. Dawson set up the silverware and plates. This was going to be something epic for him. As soon as the cooks assured them they could handle the rest, he went back to his room and searched for his best pair of jeans and a plain blue dress shirt. His hair was normal for him, spiked out in all directions, Dawson loved big hair.
The time flew and it was almost time for Scout to go to the cafeteria, Dawson was going to make sure that he got there first. Opening the doors he found a roll out cart with all sorts of delicious foods and a single rose lay next to it with a note ”Go get her dude.” He smiled and picked the rose up and hid it behind his back as he waited patiently for Scout. His pulse racing with nervousness.
